Qinghai Golog Airport to Start Flights in July
According to Chinanews.com, the newly constructed Golog Airport in Qinghai Province successfully passed three days of operational testing by the CAAC Northwest Regional Administration, marking that the airport has passed all needed inspections and will go into operation in July.
Golog Airport is located in Dawu Township of Golog Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture and was built with total investments amounting to 1.132 billion yuan (182.6 millon US dollars). The altitude of the facilities is approximately 3,800 meters making it a high plateau airport. It is accessible by road from Xining at a distance of 440 kilometers.
The Golog Airport construction project was a focal project in the 12th five-year plan of Qinghai Province. The construction project lasted 16 months before completion.
In the next step, this airport will open flights and marketing work, and finish all other preoperational work needed before fully opening for usage.
