Gansu Gannan will Host 3 International Tourism and Culture Events
According to the Gannan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture Tourism Bureau, this summer Gannan Prefecture will hold three major international events, including the 2016 World Tourism Ambassador Chinese Ethnic Minorities Conference finals, the Shambala International Photography Ceremony and the Nine-Colored Gannan Shambala “One Belt One Road” Minority Costume Exhibition.
It is said that the 2016 World Tourism Ambassador Chinese Minority Conference will have the main theme of “Let the world see the beauty of China”, and will showcase diverse Chinese ethnic minority culture and unique natural beauty, promoting ethnic cultural exchange.
The competition will be held in Ningxia, Qinghai, Yunnan, Gansu, and other provinces with many ethnic minorities, holding preliminary matches, semi-finals, and the final sprint for the Chinese Conference final and International final. The Chinese Conference final will be held in the middle of July in Gannan Prefecture.
The Shambala International Photography Ceremony will attract international amateur photographers to convene in Gannan, using their camera lenses to record and present the beauty of Gannan.
The Nine-Colored Gannan Shambala “One Belt One Road” Minority Costume Exhibition will showcase the different ethnic minority clothes and culture along the Silk Road.
“These three events comprehensively publicize Gannan’s rich culture, history, detailed folk culture, and natural resources, manifesting the ecological, cultural, and harmonious Gannan, developing the unique Gannan tourism culture, and letting the world understand Gannan,” said Cao Shiqing, director of the Gannan Prefecture Tourism Bureau.
Gannan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture is one of 10 Tibetan autonomous prefectures in China. It is located in the southwest of Gansu Province, on the northeast edge of the Tibetan Plateau and in the western section of the Loess Plateau, a place where Tibetan and Han cultures converge.
