Know More about Silk Road through Pictures in Urumqi
Residents and visitors to Urumqi were able to enjoy more than 600 paintings and photographs at an exhibition at the Xinjiang International Conference and Exhibition Center from July 23 to 26.
The exhibition consisted of four parts – international photographs, international artworks, paintings drawn by children and photos of Urumqi. The varying styles of the photos and paintings revealed aspects of development and culture of cities along the Silk Road – an ancient trade road stretching from China to Central Asia and Europe.
Zhang Junyue, vice head of the region’s Federation of Literature and Art Circles, explained that the exhibition was held to promote cooperation and communication between Urumqi and other cities in the fields of education and culture.
At the close of the exhibition, art experts gave an evaluation for each exhibition piece and picked out their favorites.
