Uzbek Dancers Display Folk Skills in Karamay Xinjiang
Dancing Uzbek Flower, a dance performance by the Uzbekistan National Dance Association, was put on stage in Karamay, Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region on July 21, raising the curtain on the Fourth China Xinjiang International Dance Festival.
Performers from Uzbekistan showcased their national culture through dancing and singing. The exotic show presented the audience, some of whom even came from other provinces just for the dance festival, with a visual and musical feast.
Zhu Hexiang, member of Standing Committee of Karamay's municipal Party committee, said in her post-show speech that the dance festival builds a bridge between countries along the Silk Road, helping enhance cultural communication and exchanges and promote regional economy.
The China Xinjiang International Dance Festival is held in the cities of Urumqi, Karamay and Aksu, July 21-Aug 5. Performers from 11 countries and regions, including Turkey, Ireland and Belarus, take part in the event.
