BEIJING : Pakistan has been invited for participation in an investment and trade fair to be organised next year at the starting point of ancient Silk Road in China’s northwestern Shaanxi province. Commercial Consular at Pakistan Embassy Riaz Ahmed Shaikh attended a briefing held in this regard to promote Silk Road Economic and Trade Cooperation Theme Events in the 18th Investment and Trade Forum for Cooperation between East and West China (ITFCEW) here in Beijing on Friday. In a media interview, Riaz Ahmed said that for participation of Pakistan in the symposium, he has written a letter to Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) highlighting its significance.

The 18th ITFCEW will be held in Xian the capital city of Shaanxi province. The 4-day ITFCEW runs from May 23-26, aimed at promoting the construction of Silk Road Economic Belt as well as the trade and cooperation among the countries in the Economic Belt, he said adding that it will also facilitate the westward development in China.
