Lanzhou Water Museum Re-opens Free to the Public in Gansu

The city of Lanzhou in Northwest China's Gansu province reopened the Lanzhou Water Museum to the public for free on May 24, after six months of reconstruction work.

Lanzhou Water Museum is located at the Lanzhou Veolia Water Co headquarters. The new exhibition hall focuses on water conservancy, water pollution prevention and the scientific utilization of water. More than 300 pictures are on display in the museum, as well as many historical documents showing the development of the Lanzhou water supply project. Visitors can also see Lanzhou's first-ever diving suit.

The museum was initially opened on June 27, 2007, where a variety of tap water equipment models were exhibited. Since its opening, many residents have visited the museum to learn about the history of Lanzhou tap water.

At the beginning of 2015, Lanzhou Veolia Water Co started to improve the museum by investing more than 3 million yuan into a construction and upgrade project. The upgraded exhibition hall covers 800 square meters and contains eight exhibition rooms, including rooms of water conservancy and water project development.
