The city of Urumqi, Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, set up a female entrepreneurs' association on Jan 28, with 5,000 members who engage in resources, medicine, real estate, agriculture, trade, cosmetics and other fields.

The association will help members develop to a higher level by making use of the province’s natural resources and the markets along the Silk Road Economic Belt, which stretches to central Asia.

“We are going to encourage our members to adopt efficient management mechanisms, build prominent teams, take advantage of capital markets and help several enterprises get listed,” said Huang Yunshi, head of the association.
