Sino-African Maritime Silk Road Exhibition Opens in Tanzania
An exhibition about the history and culture of the Sino-African Maritime Silk Road has opened up in the Tanzanian capital Dar es Salaam.
The exhibition one of several activities to mark the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between China and Tanzania.
The exhibition includes 42 pieces from China along and 24 items unearthed in Tanzania. From porcelain and pottery, to bronze wares and silk products, the pieces are quite varied, but they come together to present the Maritime Silk Road’s long history, as well as the friendship between the two countries.
The exhibition has drawn in hundreds of visitors. Locals say they are glad to learn so much about the history between the two countries, and they hope that one day exhibitions about Tanzania's history can be held in China.
The exhbition will run through mid-January.
